Ekta Kapoor’s popular show 'Pavitra Rishta', which was launched in 2009, is back with its second season with a fresh storyline and a new set of actors. While Ankita Lokhande is reprising her iconic role of Archana in the show, Shaheer Sheikh steps into Sushant Singh Rajput and Hiten Tejwani's shoes as Manav. After a long wait, the show has started streaming today on ZEE5 with all episodes having been dropped online at once. Notably, based on the tagline ‘love can overcome all challenges', the eight-part series has been garnering much love and praise from critics and audiences alike.

Soon after the show was released on OTT, #pavitrarishta2 started trending on Twitter with netizens and fans going gaga over Ankita and Shaheer's power-packed performances in the show. Many users welcomed Shaheer with an open heart as the new Manav and called him an amazing actor.

Earlier, while speaking with SpotBoyE, Shaheer Sheikh admitted that he was a little apprehensive about taking up the show owing to audiences huge expectations.

He said, “A lot of people told me that are you sure you want to do this character? Because it was a legendary character of such a hit show played by Sushant Singh Rajput. People will have very high expectations from you. I was anyway not very sure if I should take up the show and after hearing all such things, I started feeling even more nervous. In fact, the first thought I had was, 'Mujhe accept hi nahi karenge log.”
